Prode Caballito: a neighbourhood’s World Cup prediction pool, no spreadsheets

The challenge
A group of neighbours in Caballito, Buenos Aires, has run a World Cup prediction pool (a “prode”, as it’s called in Argentina) for years. Doing it by hand means collecting predictions by message, copying them into a spreadsheet, working out every participant’s points after each match, keeping track of who has paid and telling everyone how the ranking looks. With dozens of participants and 72 matches, that’s a lot of repetitive work, and mistakes lead to arguments.
The solution
We built a dedicated web platform for the community, used for the 2022 Qatar World Cup and brought back for the 2026 World Cup:
- Prediction entry for the 72 group-stage matches, with score-format validation.
- Automatic scoring with a 0-to-4-point system (exact score, winner, goals and bonus) that updates itself as real results come in.
- Live ranking and community: participant counter and an up-to-date leaderboard.
- WhatsApp invitations with a customisable message, so the community itself brings in new participants.
- Automated communication with participants through Engage, our multichannel messaging platform.
The result
The pool went from depending on a spreadsheet and one person doing sums to running on its own: every participant enters their predictions, the system works out the points and the ranking updates with no manual work. The 2026 edition already has 65 participants.
What can a company take from this? What we solved here (collecting data from lots of people, applying rules, calculating and notifying) is exactly what repeats in collections, orders, appointments and customer follow-up. See the processes we automate.
